The DMF Checkpoint App from LuK, a brand of Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket, has been named top product award winner in a UK poll of professional mechanics. The App is designed provide expert assistance to technicians who regularly service and repair modern clutch systems that include a Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF).

The prestigious award was made after a Professional Motor Mechanic magazine reader’s poll which recognises manufacturers and suppliers that have made a real difference to the independent garage technician's ability to maintain the high standards expected of modern day servicing and repairs. This may be in the form of innovative parts or tools, fault-finding equipment or garage aids such as technical data, posters and literature.

LuK’s DMF Checkpoint App allows technicians to accurately check if a DMF needs replacing due to wear. Technicians just enter an LuK DMF part number into the App, to access a wealth of technical information including operating tolerances and bolt torque settings.

Jeff Earl, Marketing Manager, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd, said: “We are delighted that the DMF Checkpoint App has been honoured. It is immensely rewarding to know that it is valued by professional motor mechanics, who we are always striving to assist by providing the latest technology components, tools and training. We are also pleased to announce an updated version of the App for mobile devices is now available from the App Store, Google Play and, for the first time, Windows Store.”

Improvements to DMF CheckPoint v2.0.0 include making the display more dynamic for all device sizes and adding Windows phone functionality. To install, just search in the relevant store for DMF CheckPoint, or if you already had a version installed you may automatically receive an invitation to update.

A version of the DMF App is also available inside Schaeffler’s revised REPXPERT online portal for workshop professionals, which offers everything to make life for an independent garage mechanic that little bit easier. Registration for this extensive site is quick and easy at www.repxpert.co.uk.
