PPG Refinish has announced the promotion of David Smith to the position of National Sales Manager PPG Refinish UK and Ireland.

David joined PPG Industries in 1995 and has held a variety of sales and business development roles in the paint and coatings industry both with ICI and PPG. He has progressed through several positions of increasing responsibility before taking on the Regional Business Manager role for the South West and Midlands in 2012.

In his new role of National Sales Manager David will lead the PPG sales team and work closely with PPG’s distribution partners to drive sales expansion by capitalising on PPG’s core product strengths and technical support. 

Commenting on the appointment Gethyn Davies, PPG Refinish UK and Ireland Market Director said, “Dave is a proven sales professional who brings a mix of strategic, commercial and organisational leadership skills to the role. Dave has been a key driver to our recent performance and consistently delivered impressive growth within his region.”
