AkzoNobel's Swedish student exchange programme is successfully underway for the fifth year running. This year, AkzoNobel and its Acoat Select partners, hosted a group of students from Liljaskolan Vocational College in Northern Sweden.

The programme recognises the achievements of those studying body repair at the College, with the top performers being rewarded with a two-week work experience placement in Ireland.

This year, two of the students (Andrea and Lukas) were hosted by Dennings Cars (Bodyshop of the Year 2013), while two (Victor and Markus) went to Accident Repair Centre. During their time in Ireland, they worked under the supervision of experienced personnel and gained hands on experience on all aspects of the body repair process.

AkzoNobel in Ireland has sponsored the programme since its inception. Peter Daly, MD, commented: “This course provides a really good practical element to the Liljaskolan Vocational College course. It’s not often that young apprentices can gain so much experience under one roof.  Dennings Cars boasts some of the most up-to-date vehicle repair methods, and repairs some of Ireland’s most exclusive and classic vintage cars. Accident Repair Centre staff similarly have a vast amount of experience repairing vehicles using the latest equipment and repair techniques.”

Peter goes on to say: “We are very grateful to the Accident Repair Centre, Dennings and indeed all our Acoat Partners, who have supported the Swedish student exchange programme and looked after the young trainees so well over the years”.
 
The students were awarded a certificate by AkzoNobel based on the work carried out during their stay.
