SsangYong Motors are set to unveil the newly designed and highly anticipated seven-seater Rodius at the Ploughing Championships in County Laois this week. The first batch of the new model Rodius arrived to Ireland recently and is being kept under wraps at Harris HQ until the big reveal at the big national event.

SsangYong say that the new model Rodius ‘combines a complete new bodywork that sets it apart from previous models with the practicality the previous models were known for, plus a very significant increase in efficiency thanks to the new two litre turbo diesel engine (155PS).’

According to SsangYong, their new MPV can comfortably sit seven adults with space for luggage, and sports a flexible interior to accommodate a range of lifestyles. Dealer development manager John Keogh stated, “People will definitely be surprised when they see this new model. It looks startlingly different from any previous model gone before. The styling has been completely overhauled and the interior has been improved to increase adaptability, accommodating a wide range of lifestyles.”

The Rodius is powered by SsangYong’s own 2.0-litre turbo charged e-XDi200 diesel engine with maximum power of 155ps/4000rpm. There’s a choice of 6-speed manual transmission and 5-speed T-Tronic automatic transmission, ensuring world-class durability, smooth gear-changing performance and quiet operation.

Some of its comprehensive levels of standard equipment includes:  Air conditioning and an Air Quality System to detect and prevent the ingress of hazardous gases such as carbon monoxide or hydrocarbons to maintain air quality, Eco Cruise Control, a heated windscreen to prevent the wipers from freezing and rear parking sensors, all make driving easier. Leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, and an MP3 CD & RDS radio with a USB & auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity also feature.

The Rodius will be available in three spec options from €36,995 – €42,995 and will come with a five year warranty and five year road side assistance.
