Delphi accelerates braking range growth

Delphi has added more than 300 new braking parts in 2023, including 20 first-to-market additions for high-performance vehicles, such as the BMW M-series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The new additions have also included many applications for electric vehicles, an area where Delphi is a market leader.

New releases launched this year include applications for Tesla, Renault, Nissan, Jeep, Toyota, Honda, VAG and many more.

Delphi is renowned for being the first to bring out premium quality braking parts for newly released models. The aim is to help workshops increase profitability and customer retention by accessing the repair business on newer vehicles.

“We’ve worked hard to expand the range this year,” said Carl Lester, Global Product Line Manager at Delphi. “As part of that expansion, we recently launched an innovative new range of battery electric vehicle (BEV) brake pads, specifically developed for the fast-growing EV market.”

Delphi’s range of BEV brake pads comprises 63 part numbers, with a further 16 due for imminent launch. Applications include the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S/Model 3, in addition to newly released models such as BMW i4/iX, Mercedes EQC/EQEE/QS, and Porsche Taycan/Cross Turismo.

“Delphi BEV brake pads are covered with an advanced coating to provide better initial friction,” said Carl. “They also feature a silver powder-coated backplate for high resistance to rust, while a multi-layered steel and rubber composite shim minimises noise and vibration.”
