Audi & VW Intake manifold problems

Excess carbon in some Audi and Volkswagen V6 TDi engines can cause poor drivability and engine performance. febi provides some help in identifying and correcting this problem.

Problem
The engine performance and drivability is poor, and the engine warning lamp is illuminated.

Cause
Excess carbon build-up in the inlet manifold prevents the swirl flaps from opening or closing completely. This puts unnecessary strain on the linkage and actuator, leading to a broken or worn linkage. As a result, the actuator operates out of its designed tolerances and the following fault code is logged in the engine control unit: P2015 - intake manifold flap position/signal improbable.

Solution
For this repair, febi provides a combined kit containing the inlet manifold, gasket and swirl flap adjustment motor and linkage for each manifold. Following the successful completion of the replacement, the swirl flap system has a ‘learning’ procedure take place - for this, a suitable diagnostic tool is required.
