Motorbike enthusiasts have flocked on to ignition specialist NGK Spark Plug stand at the Motorcycle Live show.

The stand at the NEC, Birmingham featured a host of attractions for visitors including Maria Costello’s Kawasaki ER6 Supertwin ‘Pizzaracebike’ and the 2014 BMW S1000RR BSB National Superstock motorcycle ridden by Chrissy Rouse, both of whom are sponsored by the company.

Maria, Chrissy and the Mission Racing team all visited the NGK stand which also featured a motorcycle racing simulator and one of NGK-sponsored four-time World Speedway champion Greg Hancock’s old bikes which was fitted with a clutch release reaction tester so that enthusiasts could test their reaction times.

NGK raised cash for the Down’s Syndrome Association in support of its Sales Manager  North, Stuart Bayne’s, upcoming 2100km+ (1304 miles) sponsored cycle ride through New Zealand to raise funds for the charity.

Mark Hallam, NGK Spark Plugs Marketing Manager, said, “Our stand attracted a lot of interest from motorcycle fans over the nine days of the event and I would like to thank all the visitors who donated funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association in exchange for NGK merchandise.”

NGK, a leading supplier of original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors, has long been synonymous with the two-wheel bike scene both on the road and in the motorcycling racing arena where its spark plugs have helped the world’s leading teams and riders to numerous victories.

The company is the world’s number one OE fitment and its Iridium IX spark plugs are popular with motorcyclists for their ability to provide enhanced ignition efficiency, better acceleration, faster starting and smoother running, longer life, and better fuel consumption.
