To ensure reliable installation in the case of elastic V-ribbed belts,

ContiTech now offers a practical all-purpose tool good for nearly all elastic V-ribbed belts: the Conti Uni-Tool Elast.

This tool can prove a real money-saver for workshops. To change elastic V-ribbed belts on vehicles, repair shops were previously forced to buy from vehicle manufacturers expensive specifically designed tools. With the new, Conti Uni-Tool Elast, repair shops now have the correct all-purpose tool readily at hand for nearly all these vehicle applications. It makes belt changes fast, easy and failsafe. The old belt can also be removed using the new tool.

Belt drives with elastic multiple V-ribbed belts do not have a belt tensioner. For this reason, car mechanics generally have to use a special mounting tool to change these belts. The tool stretches the belt for installation and fits it onto the pulley with a given initial tension. The belt then remains tensioned on its own. With other tools or mounting techniques, one runs the risk of damaging the belt and/or the pulley. This can reduce the service life of the belt and components.

The Conti Uni-Tool Elast, complete with detailed instructions on how to use it, is available at ContiTech dealers.
