MEYLE stops the monsters

Stopping a monster tractor unit when it is racing at 100 mph is a challenge for any braking system, but putting its products to work in some of the toughest testing grounds possible has always been a priority of Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG the company behind the MEYLE and MEYLE HD component brands. This is one of the reasons why it renewed its technical partnership with the "tankpool24" and "CESPA" truck racing teams for the 2015 FIA European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC).

Wulf Gaertner Autoparts supplies both teams with MEYLE brake discs and pads and rising star of the tankpool24 team, André Kursim, has been talking about the importance of the technical partnership.

André says MEYLE technicians provide him and the team with vital support. He comments, “Being our partner for brake discs and pads the company provides support not only on race day, but also during training and test drives. What we need is a brake system that delivers high-grip and precise braking performance throughout the entire race or on one fast-paced lap in the qualifying. Only if the brakes function properly over the long haul can the team remain in the hunt. With the MEYLE technicians' support we've been able to find the perfect brake disc and pad pairing, delivering made-to-measure performance.”

MEYLE technicians are on hand to provide advice at many of the race events and Andre says the team is usually in touch with MEYLE experts over the course of the entire race week. He comments, “We collaborate closely, always trying to make further improvements or refinements to the vehicle. We've been using MEYLE brake discs and pads for over a year now and become more impressed with the quality with every race.”

The quality of the components developed for the FIA European Truck Racing Championship is reflected throughout the MEYLE and MEYLE HD ranges. These parts are distributed in Ireland by Strongline Autoparts. For more information call 01-462-4631.
