NGK-sponsored Charlie Martin claimed third place in the Praga championship standings of the 2021 Britcar Endurance Championship after securing two fourth place finishes at the title-decider at Donington Park.

She made an excellent return to the cockpit in October following surgery for a broken collarbone and with Powerhouse Performance by Praga teammate Jack Fabby claimed fourth place in both races as the championship drew to a close under twilight conditions

Charlie said, “It’s been a great season in the Britcar Endurance Championship, capped off with third place in the Praga championship. It certainly wasn’t an easy one after I broke my collarbone. After surgery, there was nothing I wanted more than to be back in the car and after being told I wouldn’t be able to drive until December, I did everything I could to get behind the wheel. Three weeks later, I was back in the Praga preparing myself for the title decider.

“It’s been a year full of highlights, from the class win at the very first round to a handful of podium finishes throughout the year. I’ve loved working with Jack throughout the year and I’ve learnt so much from all of the experiences we’ve shared together. I’d also like to thank all of the team who have worked tirelessly over the past six months.”

NGK Spark Plugs, a leading supplier of original equipment (OE) spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda sensors, is a long-term supporter of Charlie.

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager, NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said, “Charlie has done brilliantly to make the podium after her injury. She continues to be not only a fine driver, but also a great Ambassador for NGK, and I’m sure she will achieve even greater things in 2022.”
