NGK-sponsored racing driver Nic Hamilton has confirmed plans to drive for Team HARD, lining up in a Cupra Leon for the 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. Hamilton remains with the team in which he achieved his best qualifying position and first points finish driving one of the teams Volkswagen CC’s in 2020.

The team has been working hard to build brand new Cupra Leons for the upcoming season, bringing the marque to the championship for the first time. Optimistic about his chances this season, Hamilton said, “I am enormously proud to be back on the BTCC grid this year. A lot of hard work and physical conditioning ensures I can participate in the sport and I am grateful to ROKiT Phones, ABK Beer and my other partners for their continued support and belief in me.”

Hamilton, the brother of seven-time World Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, has a long-standing relationship with ignition and sensor specialist NGK Spark Plugs. Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager, said, “Nic is an inspirational person who has overcome many obstacles to achieve his ambition to race in the BTCC series. We are delighted to once again be supporting him and, along with our many customers who are BTCC enthusiasts, are looking forward to watching his exploits throughout the 2021 season in the new Cupra Leon.”
