Volkswagen Ireland is supporting Monican Loughman’s production of ‘The Nutcracker’ which will run in the convention centre on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd December.

‘The Nutcracker‘ is a magical Christmas story about a little girl called Clara who falls asleep after the Christmas party and dreams that one of her toys,  the handsome Nutcracker Prince, comes to life and takes her off to the land of sweets.  On their journey they meet the sugar plum fairy, battle with mouse armies and dance with performers from all over the world.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Simon Elliott, Group CEO of Volkswagen Ireland said: “We are delighted to be supporting Monica Loughman’s production of the Nutcracker. It is a real pleasure to be supporting the arts while helping Ireland to develop as an international hub of professional ballet training.”

Monica Loughman Ballet is Ireland’s most prolific and successful ballet company and is known and respected internationally.  The company recently established the new International Full Time Academy of Russian Ballet with funding from Fingal County Enterprise Board. The academy will bring talent to Ireland as well as develop the most talented ballet dancers from within the country.

Volkswagen will be showcasing a number of vehicles at ‘The Nutcracker’ performances in the Convention Centre.   Vehicles including the new Golf and the 21st Century Beetle will be donning special custom made tutus for the occasion.
