On Thursday the 13th of November 2014, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles were delighted to host the Irish Motoring Press at their 151 Press Night in Diep le Shaker, Dublin.


The night was focused on bringing together the management team at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland, the motoring press, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Brand Ambassadors and Customers.

Alan Bateson, Managing Director, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland, addressed those present and spoke about the brands successes in 2014 which has seen the best volume and financial result since the Volkswagen Group NSC (National Sales Company) was set up and also about the brands optimism of continued growth when looking to 2015. In terms of new programmes, Alan set out how the brand has reintroduced 0% finance across every model within its range and how no other brand has come close to this offer, he also spoke about a market first with the launch of Caddy PCP Solutions, the first PCP offer on a commercial vehicle in the Irish market. This product is now launched across all of its 24 specialised Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle centres in Ireland.

He continued with other new programmes such as the brands service and maintenance plans which offers Customers the flexibility to plan exactly what servicing and maintenance they require for their vehicle and pay for it on a monthly basis. Sortimo, which offers customers the complete solution for flooring, cladding, shelving and other accessories, was also discussed on the night.

Finally the night was closed by introducing the inaugural entrant into Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Mile High Club, Edwin Fay, a Customer of Blackwater Motors, Cork, spoke about his use of fleet of Caddy Maxi Vans which do over 250,000 kilometres a year and his 2012 CADDY Maxi currently reading 542,000 kilometres or an average of 5,000 kilometres per week. Edwin was invited back to showcase his mileage on his 151 Caddy at next year's event where another Customer will join him in the Mile High Club.
