Irish visitors to the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend are in for a special treat as two-time FIA European Rallycross TouringCar Champion Derek Tohill will be reunited with the Ford Fiesta that he raced to a brace of European crowns. The car and driver will perform to a packed audience in the Live Action Area at the show which runs from January 12th to 15th.

The 2016 Irish Rallycross Champion will drive the rear-wheel drive Fiesta in the Live Action Arena as part of a celebration of the 50th anniversary of rallycross, along with a plethora of iconic names from the history of the sport, including the most successful British and Irish Rallycross Championship racer ever, Dermot Carnegie, in a Ford Fiesta Supercar.

Now a front-running Supercar racer in European and Irish rallycross, Tohill will be reunited with the PFCRX TouringCar Fiesta for the indoor performance, where over 30,000 people are expected to see the action over the four days.

Derek said, “I have been attending the Autosport International Show ever since I started competing in motorsport, many years ago. When I first attended the show I used to always look forward to visiting the Live Action Arena, just to watch Dermot Carnegie and his Ford Focus rallycross Supercar. It will be a real honour to share the stage with Dermot and lots of the other rallycross legends, for whom I have so much respect. It will really be nice to be in the driving seat again in our rear-wheel drive TouringCar  which gave all of us so many great memories and so much success. It’s a special car and it will be fantastic to drive her again in England, in front of so many people.”
