It is already famous for speed and it old racing circuit was often likened to a roller coaster ride, so it is perhaps fitting that the worlds fastest roller coaster is to be constructed at the Nürburgring in Germany. When it opens next year the "Racecoaster" will be able to accelerate from 0 to 217 km/h in only 2.5 seconds, even faster acceleration than the Formula 1 cars its theme is based on.
It is believed that this will be the fastest acceleration and greatest speed of any roller coaster ever built. The structure will cast a shadow over the race track as it is to be built adjacent to the start finish line. The 1.2km coaster track will form the centre piece of a redevelopment of the track surroundings, with other attractions including a karting track, indoor arena and 5,000-seater grandstand
