A new DIY repair and protection solution from AkzoNobel Car Refinishes is about to make life much easier for car owners who’d like to get rid of minor scratches or stone chips, or protect vulnerable door edges from annoying but inevitable nicks and scratches. StickerFix is an adhesive DIY repair system which uses patented AkzoNobel paint technology in combination with a specially developed vinyl sticker.
StickerFix can be sold by bodyshops in conjunction with a repair. When a customer brings a vehicle into a bodyshop for a paint repair, the repairer can at the same time spray the colour and clearcoat onto a special adhesive vinyl sheet. The sheet is then pre-cut into specific shapes so the customer can take away a DIY colour-matched repair system which can afterwards be applied to stone chips, and even damaged or vulnerable parts of their car.
StickerFix has been extensively tested and meets demanding standards for adhesion, car wash and steam cleaning resistance, and resistance to salt spray, stone chips, petrol and weathering. The product has excellent shelf life and can be easily removed again from a vehicle by applying heat with a standard hairdryer.
