The Shaftec range of remanufactured steering racks and pumps, driveshafts, callipers, CV joints and other components has exploded in popularity this year, Many garages have become far more aware of the quality and value that they can access through high quality remanufactured parts and the saving this means they can pass on to customers.

Shaftec has especially seen consistent growth in demand for its remanufactured steering racks. The company offers over 1,200 part numbers in this sector which means 95% availability for the most popular vehicles on the road, from stock.

Darren Byng of Shaftec says, "Many mechanics now realise that our remanufactured parts are as good as the original and fully tested and guaranteed. It means they can fit a Shaftec replacement with complete peace of mind.”

Darren also points out that company has recently made an important beneficial change to its steering rack core return criteria, which applies to all types of steering rack. He says, "It is inevitable that we do sometimes have to reject core that we receive because of poor quality of damage. The vast bulk of rejections, up to 80%, on steering racks was up until recently due to rusty rack bars. I am pleased to say that we have recently adjusted the criteria and we are no longer rejecting steering rack core because of rusty rack bars. This will make it easier for customers to submit core to us.”
