James Delaney, a third year student studying Visual Communications at the IADT Dun Laoghaire is the winner of the inaugural SEAT Student Design Award. James, whose winning project was entitled "SEAT Lab Experiment", impressed the judging panel will have his college fees covered for 2013 and has been offered a three month summer internship with Owen's DDB in Dublin. His designs will also be brought to life by SEAT and used in an upcoming social media campaign.

With over sixty students participating, the judges were delighted and impressed with the level of work submitted, and deliberated for over three days before declaring James as the winner of this year's SEAT Student Design Award.

Adam Chamberlain, Brand Director of SEAT Ireland commented "SEAT is a brand that has a history of attitude, drive and extroverted personality - a brand where drivers see things differently and this was what we were looking for in the entries. This is something that we found in James project and more. He really stepped outside the box, and delivered a campaign concept that has far exceeded our expectations. We want to congratulate him again and wish him the very best in what we are sure will be a very bright future. We'd also like to thank IADT for their assistance with this task. They showed that they have real ability to work across both traditional and new digital media."

David Smith, Lecturer and Programme Leader of the Visual Communications at the IADT said that his students really embraced the challenge. "I think this was a project that the students really liked sinking their teeth into. Our students are widely regarded as being amongst the most talented and creative emerging designers in the country. It was a great chance for them to develop and test their digital skills and ideas with an established global brand like SEAT."

Two runners-up who also particularly impressed the SEAT Ireland team, Daryl Fitzsimons and the team of Amy West and Emmet Farrell, will also receive a cheque for €750 towards their annual student fees, whilst each course will also receive a Canon 600D digital SLR camera.
