Schaeffler and its REPXPERT team joined a number of other aftermarket suppliers at the IMI Automotive Intro event at Lincoln College recently, to give the next generation of workshop technician an opportunity to see the latest technology in action and talk to suppliers and manufacturers.

REPXPERT and Northern Sales & Key Account Manager, Andy Walters said, “The idea behind Automotive Intro is to provide young people interested in the industry, as well as IMI members and garages, with a live event that helps them understand what they will need and how to develop their skills. The event is split into two halves; the first half is for young people interested in an automotive college course or apprenticeship and the second lets garage owners and their employees meet representatives from the companies that make the components fitted to today’s vehicles.”

Andy added, “Although several young people showed us they had an appetite for the industry, we had a particularly good response from current professional technicians at the event, who were really keen to understand how we could help them to tackle the issues they face day-to-day, as well as what’s waiting just around the corner. We had some great conversations, and it was great to take visitors through the whole Schaeffler story, as well as to showcase all our brands - from LuK’s complete clutch repair solutions through INA belt kits and water pumps to FAG wheel bearings and steering & suspension components, plus how our REPXPERT service brand fits in.”

Andy pointed out that the event gave the team an opportunity to show the REPXPERT App and demonstrate how using it can make workshop life a little bit easier, especially the scanning functionality, which provides instant access to the incredible and invaluable range of resources available inside the REPXPERT system.
