ABL Accident Repair Group's Portsmouth site, has recently chosen PPG as the paint partner for a unique Superbike Sidecar Project.

The Team JH Racing sidecar competes in the British Superbike Eastern Airways Formula One Championship and are hoping to compete in the first World Sidecar Championship Event as a wildcard.

The PPG painted Team JH Racing sidecar is a cross between a three wheeled Formula 1 racing car and a bobsleigh, encompassing all the latest technology from the motorcycle and car world. With a lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis and  a 1000cc 4 cylinder engine Suzuki engine, the sidecar produces 180bhp and is capable of speeds of up to 170mph.

The sidecar was painted at ABL Portsmouth with PPG ENVIROBASE® High Performance basecoat and PPG CERAMICLEAR® D8126, Scratch resistant Clearcoat. This is an extremely hard clearcoat, highly resistant to scratches and abrasions important to keep the sponsor livery looking good.
