New York-based sustainable energy company the Beautiful Earth Group, has announced the completion of the city’s first solar-powered electric vehicle charging station. Built in Brooklyn and overlooking the New York water-front, the station is one of only a handful in the world to use solar powered technology.

It is fully off-grid, powered by state-of-the-art Sharp 235 watt photovoltaic panels and constructed with recycled materials including decommissioned steel shipping containers. It forms part of a project to showcase urban sustainable energy solutions in New York City.
