NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd showcased its motorsport credentials when it appeared alongside the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and teams at the Autosport International show.

The company has a long and illustrious history in motorsport and last year helped MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS win the 2014 FIA Formula One World Constructors Championship and Lewis Hamilton claim his second Formula One World Drivers’ Championship.

NGK has been involved in F1 since 1964 and its racing spark plugs are also used in many other forms of motorsport, including rallying, with the company supplying the M-Sport World Rally Team which competes in the FIA World Rally Championship.

Marko Wowczyna, Automotive Director, NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said: “With our rich pedigree in motorsport, we feel it is important to attend shows such as Autosport International and have the opportunity of engaging with the public. The show attracts tens of thousands of enthusiasts including many of our own customers who use our products on a daily basis in their own vehicles.”

A major attraction on the NGK stand over the four-day show at Birmingham’s NEC was an Audi R8 V10 LMS Ultra from Team Parker Racing which competes in the Blancpain Endurance Series (pictured).
