Ignition specialist NGK Spark Plugs has made a special presentation to a man who has helped sell hundreds of thousands of the company’s market-leading spark plugs. Brian Childs, the former Deputy Managing Director, Aftermarket, NGK Spark Plugs, paid tribute to Tony Harte who has retired after spending 40 years working for Aiken Autospares of Enniskillen.

After the presentation at NGK’s recent Northern Ireland golf day at Dunmurry Golf Club, Stewart Neill, NGK Area Manager Ireland, recalled the times in his early days with the company joining Tony for workouts as NGK built its strong presence in the Irish market. He said, “We did many calls together over the years and saw all corners of County Fermanagh selling hundreds and thousands of NGK spark plugs in the county.”

Brian Childs told customers at the presentation of the great friendship that developed between him and Tony over the many years he spent visiting Northern Ireland. He said, “Tony was a true friend and I can safely say a real gentleman and I wish him a long, healthy and happy retirement.”

Tony now looks forward to spending his free time playing golf, watching his grandchildren grow up and enjoying trips around Ireland.
