New Prius stays cool in summer sun

We all know the discomfort of getting into a hot car on a sunny summer day, but Toyota believes they have come up with a green solution to the problem in the new Prius.

The car has the option of a solar powered ventilation and remote air conditioning system, which can be operated via a key fob. This means that cooling fans keep the car cool when the driver is away, while the air con can be activated before the car is opened. Best of all the solar power panels in the roof can run the system without the need for power from the engine.
