NTN-SNR has launched a brand new range of auxiliary belts. The new range features 702 auxiliary belts reference (CA), which provides 96% coverage of the European car parc. All the references are now in stock and available with all applications details available in Tec Doc.

NTN - SNR is a leading aftermarket supplier of tensioners, kits, dampers and alternator pulleys so the addition of belts was a natural development for the company. It means that all drive belt components are now available from a single highly respected brand all in OE quality.

The new range includes;
V-Belts - This type of belt is mainly used for the alternator. It offers optimum contact, while reducing friction. It is highly resistant to wear and heat and has a low operating noise level. V Belts are specially adapted to a drive with a reduced diameter, volume and weight.

Poly-V belts - Poly-V technology quickly gained favour among manufacturers since it was first introduced by Mercedes in the 1980’s. This type of belt is easy to use and adapts to almost all types of rollers. Silent and resistant, the grooved profile of this belt meets the expectations of manufacturers in terms of complex kinematics and need for performance. Unlike the V-belt it transmits higher power and simultaneously drives auxiliary accessories such as water pumps, power steering, air-conditioning, etc.

For more recent applications, elastic Poly-V belts have been developed for engines at fixed centres and reduced belt paths. The first elastic belts were installed in the 2000s on the Ford Focus. This type of belt allows reducing the weight of the engine by removing the idler and provides superior performance with a reduction of friction. NTN-SNR recommends using specific fitting tools for the disassembly of this belt, in order to avoid damage.

The new range features a highly informative parts numbering system so that parts suppliers and technicians can quickly and effectively identify the right belt for a vehicle.
For example: Part No.:  CA6PK1740: CA = Auxiliary belt 6 = Number of ribs
PK = Poly-V with K section (3.56mm groove and groove angles of 40°) or DPK = Poly-V – double face (CA6DPK1195) or SPK = Poly-V Stretch (CA3SPK863)
1740 = Length in mm

An S suffix is also used when 2 references have the same number of ribs and the same length (CA6PK1050 and CA6PK1050S).

Special product packaging sleeves have also been created with clear product references, barcodes and QR codes providing access to on-line product information and fitting instructions. .

Full details of the range can be found in a printed Auxiliary Belt Catalogue. This includes the 702 belt references, tensioners and kits. This information can also be accessed on-line at the NTN-SNR aftermarket website
