A survey of motorist by Churchill Car Insurance in the UK has found that behind the wheel aggression is a problem for more than half of drivers.

The survey, of more than 2000 drivers, found that 57% of those questioned said they were more aggressive behind the wheel than they would be elsewhere. 31% said they regularly swore at strangers while driving and 12% said they had sworn at another motorist face to face. 11% of driver admitted to aggressively tailgating another vehicle.

Speaking about the survey Psychologist Donna Dawson said, “If we became angry at every perceived injustice that occurred to us on the road we would damage our mental and physical health and probably end up in an accident. The only way to make driving safe and more tolerable on our congested roads is to show each other patience and consideration.”
