Mondello Park, will be the venue for an historic celebration of Irish motorsport as the venue officially turns 50 on the 12th and 13th of May.

A fundraising event for the Irish Motorsport Support Fund, the "Mondello 50” will feature over a dozen forms of motorsport in 4 live action arenas over 2 days at the Co. Kildare venue.

Several star names have already been confirmed including Irish World Rally Championship stars Craig Breen and Paul Nagle as well as Irish motorsport legend, Rosemary Smith.

Primarily aimed at those who already have an interest in motorsport, the Mondello 50 will feature fun for all the family and there will be a number of attractions to keep everyone entertained. For anyone who has ever wanted to get a feel for what it is like to sit in a top flight rally or drift car, drivers from both disciplines will be giving passenger runs out on track over the weekend.

The goal of the event is to raise funds to help support Irish motorsport which has been hit with crippling insurance hikes in recent years.

Senna won the famous Leinster Trophy race at Mondello Park in 1982 aged just 21. The Leinster Trophy meeting still remains the biggest racing weekend on the Irish motorsport calendar.
