Spies Hecker customers all over the world are proud to display their much sought after Spies Hecker calendars which each month feature some outstanding and remarkable vehicles in beautiful photographic portraits. During September they were treated to a picture of a stunning vehicle which was refinished in Ireland by Monaghan based Spies Hecker customer Teddy Gillanders,

The car featured was a VW Beetle, although car is perhaps not an adequate description of the vehicle which features a fully operation crane.

Gillanders is a long established family run business with a reputation for quality workmanship and first class service. It was established by Teddy Gillander some 40 year ago, with his wife Maureen and sons Eamonn and Brendan now also playing key roles in the thriving business.

The Beetle job was undertaken for Cavan based crane hire contractor BOSSLIFT. Maureen says, "BOSSLIFT are a long standing customer and asked us to repaint the Beetle and fit the crane gear. It was certainly different to any job that we have ever carried out before and the customer was delighted with the result.”

BOSSLIFT now use their "Beetle Crane” for promotional purposes and the vehicle also caught the attention of the Spies Hecker marketing team in Germany. They search the globe each year for unusual and spectacular refinish jobs and sent over German specialist photographer Ramon Wink to take the picture for calendar which this year is themed, "For the love of the job.”
