Niklas Arndt, a Trainee at parts specialist MEYLE AG has completed the "Dust & Diesel Rally" along the West African coast.

The course covered two continents, five countries, 3,000 kilometres over just 16 days and Niklas Arndt managed to steer his Mercedes Benz W124 from Spain across Morocco and Mauritania to his final destination in Senegal.

To help the aging vehicle complete the demanding trip, MEYLE AG trainees overhauled and gear up the car, relying on the Hamburg spare parts manufacturer's very own products. In preparation for the rally, the Mercedes Benz W124 was fitted with top-grade glow plugs, engine mounts, suspension strut bearings, shock absorbers and control arms,  all from the current MEYLE product range.

After the rally was over, the 30 participating cars were auctioned off for a good cause, and the proceeds of more than 25,000 euros were donated to a German-Mauritanian charity project dedicated to supporting deprived children (www.aepn.de).
