Laser Tools is now offering workshops an environmentally friendly, chemical-free, cleaning process which uses its soda blasting pistol together with specially formulated granules of bicarbonate of soda and controlled amounts of compressed air.

The Laser Tools pistol (part number 7137) works with a workshop compressed air supply to offer impressive results with no damage to the substrate. Laser say that soda is a very soft abrasive and soda blast cleaning is non-destructive as the soda particles shatter upon impact providing a thorough cleaning action that leaves a harmless and safe water-soluble residue.

The system has numerous applications. For example, it is ideal for engine components, as it cleans, degreases and removes carbon deposits effectively, and is completely harmless on aluminium components. One of soda’s main benefits in terms of automotive use is that it does not cause the surface to heat up, with the potential risk of warping, making it very useful for cleaning large, flat vehicle components such as bonnets and roofs, as well as those made of aluminium or carbon fibre. Additionally, because soda is water-soluble, any residue left on components such as engine parts can be simply washed away with water, minimising the chance of blocked ports and holes.

The gun can also be used safely on brick, plaster, vinyl, glass, wood and more, without damage. This makes it good for non-automotive applications such as freshening up exterior garden furniture or graffiti removal.

The soda blasting pistol and additional 5kg tubs of soda blast media (part number 7138) are now available now from your Laser Tools stockist.
