Three former title holders battled for the leading positions in round two of the Triton Showers National Rally Championship, the Circuit of Kerry.

Donegal’s Donagh Kelly in his trusty Ford Focus came out on top in the Rose Hotel sponsored event ahead of his fellow county man Declan Boyle with Roy White from Tipperary making up the podium positions.

Kelly finished 16.4 seconds ahead of the Ford Fiesta WRC of another Donegal driver, Declan Boyle. Clonmel’s Roy White in a Ford Fiesta WRC was a minute and 19.3 seconds further behind in third. Indeed a third Donegal man, Joe McGonigle rounded off a great weekend for the north west as he finished in fourth place over two minutes off the pace.

The historic category was won by Mark Falvey in a Mark I Escort while the junior rally was won by the talented Jonny Treanor in a Honda Civic.
