The Irish Motoring Writers' Association (IMWA) has supported the Focus Ireland Christmas Appeal with a €2,500 contribution to support the work of Focus Ireland in helping the homeless at Christmas time.

The IMWA collected almost €2,000 from journalists and members of the Irish Motor Industry during the recent ceremony for the Continental Irish Car and Van of the Year 2014 Awards, held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in late November. This amount was topped up by a further €500 from the funds of the members of the IMWA to give a total contribution to the Focus Ireland Christmas Appeal 2013 of €2,500.

The IMWA Chairman, Gerry Murphy said:  "The association, with the generous contributions from the members of the Irish motor industry, at the annual Continental Irish Car and Van of the Year ceremony, is pleased to be able to provide €2,500 in funding to Focus Ireland in their effort to support people with difficult circumstances, during this period of particularly cold weather."

The 29 members of the Irish Motoring Writers’ Association are journalists who publish, broadcast and provide web based information about motoring issues for a wide range of publications throughout Ireland. The titles Irish Car and Van of the Year are registered with the Irish Motoring Writers’ Association.
