After the success of last year’s programme, Somora Motor Parts, in conjunction with its battery supplier Yuasa, has announced a new series of special battery training sessions to take place in Athlone, Dundalk, Kilkenny and Limerick.

The evening events are targeted at garages and anyone fitting batteries and focus in particular on AGM / EFB batteries and the huge potential that this technology can offer. At each session, Ian Newham, the head of Yuasa Europe’s Training Division and other members of the Yuasa training team will dispel many of the myths that still surround this type of technology and give practical advice on how to build new battery business and expertise. 

The training will also cover Yuasa’s battery reprogramming and look-up tools and show how these can be used to enhance customer service and ensure the correct battery for the vehicle is always selected and fitted.

Stephen Lawless of Somora says, “Our experience shows that AGM and EFB battery sales are rising sharply and it is essential that garages have a sound grasp of the differences between this start-stop and micro hybrid technology to standard batteries. This training was extremely useful to those that attended last year and provides a very practical insight into how garages can embrace the latest technology and enhance their battery business.”
