Delegates who visited the Gates stand at the latest MechanExpert Shows, held in Galway, Limerick and Castlebar, learned first-hand about the new opportunities available to them through modular branched hoses being added to the rapidly expanding Gates cooling systems range.
The new coolant hoses are now available from Gates stockists and will fit models from manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen/Audi and Land Rover.
Bob McAvan, District Sales Manager for Gates, explained that the branched coolant hoses, which are all OE quality and manufactured by Gates, are supplied complete with the same quick hose connectors that are fitted as OE. He pointed out, “The Gates hose range has been expanded by more than 1500 new part numbers. As well as branched modular hoses, an extensive range of turbocharger hoses are also now available.”
Modular branched hoses feature parts such as flow restrictors, sensor ports and other plastic connectors. They are commonly found on vehicles produced over the last 5-10 years. These extra parts give them a more complex appearance than earlier cooling system hoses, but the good news for garages is that in most cases, installation is a relatively straightforward procedure.
Bob says the OE quality replacements will satisfy pre-existing demand because Gates has focused on the hoses which are fitted in models with a record of premature hose failure. As such, the modular branched hose range from Gates can open up some significant repair opportunities for garages.
