Massive glass dealer showrooms springing up all over the country were a common sight in the boom years. However, with keeping costs under control now a key issue for dealerships, more and more companies are expected to turn to temporary accommodation to satisfy their sales needs.

De Boer, an international provider of semi-permanent buildings, says it is seeing a surge in demand as dealers opt for flexible low cost building options. The company has already provided temporary sales facilities to many dealerships across Europe including Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Ford, Volvo and Nissan outlets. In one instance De Boer was able to create a Kia dealership for the Ringways Motor Group of Doncaster.  The 380-square-metre temporary showroom, complete with glazed frontage, roller doors, hard-wall interiors and specialist lighting, was put together in just seven days.
