First Line opens up sump sales potential

Parts specialist First Line has highlighted oil sump replacement as an area of significant business potential for garages. The company says that the poor state of many roads, coupled with increasing use of traffic calming speed humps, means that many exposed sumps are being damaged and need replacement, or become susceptible to long term issues because of corrosion.

First Line says that aluminium sumps as fitted to the 1.9TDI engine used on many VAG models, the Fiat 500 and Opel Corsa 1.3TD are especially prone to damage. The company has therefore developed a range of 10 oils sumps that cater for these vehicles, as well as several other high demand applications.

The sumps are manufactured from steel or aluminium, in accordance with the OE fitment. Steel sumps are powder coated to ensure extra corrosion resistance and longevity. All sumps are all supplied with sump plugs. First Line also offers a range of seven sump plugs that can be bought separately and these include the popular patented plastic plug used for the VW Golf and the Audi A3/A4.
