Current Motorsport Ireland and Sport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Jordan Dempsey is set to alter his plans for the remainder of the 2018 season.

Ireland's young racing talent will pit his skills against completely different opposition with a move to Pinnacle Motorsport and the China F4 Championship, starting next weekend at the Zhuhai International Circuit.

The China based team run by fellow-Irishman John O’Hara have made quite an impression in recent years across an array of championships including Formula 3 and LMP3, despite being a relatively new team. While this will be their first foray into an F4 championship, their wealth of experience within their team personnel will almost certainly mark them out as ones to watch this season.

Dempsey had originally planned to contest the US F4 Championship this year and despite showing good pace during the early part of the opening weekend at Virginia International Raceway, it was clear as the weekend went on that he would be unable to show his true potential at the wheel to challenge for the title. After narrowly missing out on an opportunity to move to an alternative team to remain in the US, Jordan opted to re-evaluate the Chinese route that he had briefly explored earlier in the year. Dempsey now feels that this platform and team will provide him with right opportunity to show his true talents.

“I’m delighted to work with the guys at Pinnacle Motorsport, they run a very professional outfit. I look forward to the first race this weekend to see how we go with a new car and new track. Thanks to Digital Planet, Motorsport Ireland, Sport Ireland and Team Ireland for the opportunity. Also a big thanks to my parents and close family for their constant supptor,” said Dempsey.
