Pinnacle Motorsport and Jordan Dempsey were put to the test when the FIA F4 Chinese Championship visited the Wuhan Street Circuit last week.

The narrow 2.984 km track provided plenty of action for the series' penultimate event, but its concrete-lined walls also caught out drivers who dared to push over the limits. Dempsey boldly took on the new challenge and landed a podium finish to maintain his lead in the driver's standings.

Despite this being his first time at Wuhan, Dempsey managed to qualify P2 ahead of some big names and missed pole by only 0.005 sec. He then got off to a good start in race 1 and proceeded to challenge for the lead. However, a misjudgment caused him several positions and later a lock up that sent him into the wall where he retired.

The team did an amazing job to get the #03 car repaired in time for the race that afternoon. Now starting from the back of the grid, Dempsey took a more conservative strategy to ensure he finishes in the points. A trouble-free run allowed him to climb up to 4th during the 18-lap race, while setting the fastest lap.

Following the previous day's disappointing results, the young Irishman made full use of his strong pace to bounce back in race 3. He made his way from P7 on the grid to take the chequered flag in 2nd to wrap up Pinnacle Motorsport's experience at Wuhan on a high note.

With the team's two solid results at Wuhan, Jordan Dempsey now holds onto a 20 point lead in the F4 Chinese Championship. Pinnacle Motorsports now looks forward to seal the driver's title during the season finale on October 13 - 14 at the Ningbo International Speedpark.

Accompanying Pinnacle Motorsport on their FIA F4 Chinese Championship campaign are partners Motorsport Ireland and P1 Racewear.

Jordan Dempsey: “This weekend I really learned the value in always scoring points and not going for the win every time you go out, because we're fighting for the championship. I made a silly mistake in race 1 but I made sure that didn't happen again. The following races were good and we consolidated our points lead. The car was great all weekend as was shown with our fastest laps. Thanks to Pinnacle Motorsport, Digital Planet, Motorsport Ireland, Sport Ireland, along with my family for always supporting me 100%!”
