Power transmissions specialists ContiTech, have released a new app which provides comprehensive information and 3D illustrations on it complete product range as well as latest news and a wealth of useful technical hints and tips.

ContiTech says the new ContiDrive app brings the whole world of ContiTech belts and belt drive components together in one simple resource for smartphones and tablets.

The app offers a number of ways to find product information. Users can enter the Conti number, an OE or competitor cross reference or enter the relevant vehicle data. An integrated QR code scanner also provides a quick and easy way of accessing information. You simply scan the QR codes on ContiTech product packaging and the app take you directly to the required product pages.

ContiDrive offers all product specific information at a glance. This includes, parts lists, images, fitting tips and instructions and vehicle applications.

As an added bonus, augmented reality also makes its ContiTech debut appearance in the new app. It provides access to three-dimensional exploded models of belt tensioners or animations of an internal combustion engine, plus many more all round view product illustrations. The augmented reality capabilities of the app can be tried out for the first time in conjunction with the new Belts and components, Technology- Know-how-Tips brochure. Certain pages in the brochure feature the ContiDrive app logo, indicating that additional augmented reality content is available. You can then scan these pages using the integrated AR scanner in the app to view the illustrations. These can be a great help with parts identification.

The app is available now for Apple and Android devices via normal app stores.
