Former Irish young racing driver of the year Cian Carey has signed his first professional contract to race in the European Michelin LeMans cup with Italian outfit TS Corse.

The 26-year-old is making the move from three hugely successful years in Formula 3 where he won back-to-back British F3 titles to endurance racing this coming season. The Meath man will take on a new challenge of racing a prototype LMP3 car sharing it with Italian teammate Pietro Peccenini.

Over the past few months Carey has been working hard to make the step up to professional motorsport on the international stage with the support of his management team Matt Griffin who works with Ferrari and John Clare, CEO of Artemis-isg. LeMans is one of the biggest championships in the world and Carey will be competing against many of the sports top drivers.

“I’m absolutely delighted to receive my first professional contract. It’s been an incredibly busy few months and it’s just brilliant to be getting such an incredible opportunity. TS Corse are a very professional operation and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”
