Italian braking technology specialist Brembo had plenty to talk about at Automechanika, with several new innovations showcased on an impressive stand near the main hall entrance. 

John Claude Dal Grande, VP Aftermarket GBU EMEA Sales at Brembo explained how that being solely focused on braking, allows the company to meet aftermarket needs at different levels right now and how Brembo is looking to the future, with more sustainable braking solutions, already coming on stream and new intelligent braking technology being developed. 

The Brembo range currently consists of 5 product families, designed to meet specific customer and vehicle needs. Brembo Essential is the perfect line for those who are seeking a first approach to replacement aftermarket components, while Brembo Prime, is a premium line, tailor-made for consumers who are seeking the best fit for their car, LCV, truck or motorbike, with enhanced characteristics through high technical and quality standards. 

Brembo Beyond comprises two different ranges and embraces the company’s mission to become a solution provider, by improving the driving dynamics of new mobility vehicles, with a specific focus on sustainable solutions. The Brembo Beyond Greenance Kit, offers Euro 7compliant braking solutions that significantly reduce PM10 and PM2.5 emissions by 80%. The product, which is also now available for cars, generates savings on the overall total cost of vehicle ownership, without any compromise on performance. In addition, the Brembo Beyond EV Kit, dedicated to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, is a range of specially coated discs and innovative brake pads that are quieter and guarantee no corrosion up to and beyond 100,000 kms. 

Brembo Xtra is the ideal choice for passionate drivers, offering top quality reliability and performance. Brembo Upgrade represents the exclusive world of Brembo and offers enthusiasts performance, style and passion. 

At Automechanika, Brembo introduced its new Sport brake disc, which becomes part of the Brembo Xtra family.  This is an ideal solution for enthusiasts who use their vehicles both for normal road use as well as sporty driving. This product directly derives from the company’s proud heritage and extensive experience in motorsports and the Original Equipment markets. The specific design of the slot, found on the brake ring, enables constant cleaning of the brake pad’s surface, which improves the consistency of braking by dissipating the generated heat and the gases released when the pads come into contact with the discs. In addition, the Sport disc guarantees better grip at the start of braking. 

Brembo also announced that it has extended its brake range with the introduction of Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brake discs and pads. The products have been present on the market as original equipment items since the beginning of 2000, but the exclusive discs and related pads are now available in the Aftermarket. They offer a 50% weight reduction and high friction coefficient, which remains stable during braking at all speeds and in all weather conditions.

Looking to the future John Claude explained how Bremo is already developing next generation braking solutions that will take braking performance to a new level.
