In what has been a very challenging year for the accident repair sector many bodyshop have found one way to secure additional work has been by making full use of the Toyota Write Off Avoidance programme. This easy to access and administer programme allows the repairer, insurer and Toyota dealer to work together and use additional parts discounts on qualifying cars to have them safely repaired and keep them on the road. It means a boost for the bodyshop in terms of an addition job that they would not have got if the vehicle was written off and means the driver can keep their own car and not have the inconvenience and expense of sourcing a replacement.

Arthur Power, Area Sales Manager for Toyota Ireland Aftermarket says “Bodyshops tell us that the Write Off Avoidance programme has been a great tool that has helped them through some tough trading conditions. Toyota Ireland and their local dealer come together to provide an additional 30% discount on parts for qualifying cars and this has made a huge difference to bodyshops and drivers all over Ireland. Currently we are saving on average 3 Toyotas’ per month from an uneconomical Write off, helping to provide additional labour and parts revenue to our dealer network and their trade partners.”

Arthur says two key factors have also meant that the programme has been an even bigger success in recent months. He comments, “One thing that bodyshops really like about the programme is the very fast response time. The whole process is dealt with by an Irish based team so there are no delays. Once the bodyshop contacts their dealer with an estimate they can have a response in as little as an hour.”

Arthur also points out that the programme is not just limited to insurance work. He says, “We recognise that often drivers will only have third party cover, a high excess, or might not want to lose their no claims bonus. For this reason we have expanded the programme to cash jobs and can offer the additional discounts direct to the customer where the car qualifies.”

Repairers wishing to avail of the Toyota Write Off Avoidance Programme should contact their local Toyota Dealer Parts Department from the 46 nationwide Toyota dealer network.
