Bespoke paint jobs can be something of a pain when it comes to accident repairs, but it seems that luxury car makers are increasing looking in that direction to make their vehicles stand out.

Jaguar Land Rover certainly think bespoke paint is the way to go and have just announced an investment of £65million in new paintshop facilities to allow them to offer tailored finishes to wealthy customers. This will include a new paint centre in Castle Bromwich, UK and another in Nitra, Slovakia.

JLR says it plans to double in size it bespoke paint operations to allow clients to order Range Rovers in their personal colour choice.  Rolls Royce also recently announced a £300m expansion of its customisation operations, including bespoke paintwork services.

Jamal Hameedi, director of special vehicle operations at JLR commented, "Range Rover clients are increasingly choosing to tailor their vehicles with more exclusive bespoke and elevated palette paints. By increasing our capacity we can satisfy the demand growth from our Range Rover clients and clients of our other brands."

The company says the new facilities will also help it cut energy use and reduce paint waste.
