Expand your service offer through remote diagnostics

With the growing complexity of electronic systems on today’s vehicles, the ability to be able to deliver fast and accurate diagnostics in an independent garage has never been greater. However, time, cost and lack of training often place limits on a workshops diagnostic abilities, meaning they will sometimes turn work away. More and more independent garages across Ireland are now finding an effective solution to this issue in the form of RADE, a specialist service from EC Diagnostics.

RADE means Remote Assisted Diagnostics Expert and has been developed to offer workshops enhanced diagnostic abilities so that they can diagnose and repair even the most complex vehicle systems, without the need to make huge investments in the latest diagnostic equipment and training.

Eamon Carey of EC Diagnostics says, “Especially if a garage is working on a wide variety of makes and models it is impossible to stay up to date with the latest systems on all vehicles. Because we are dealing with a variety of issues from all over Ireland every day, we can use our diagnostic expertise to solve problems remotely, saving a huge amount of time.” He adds, “With RADE a garage can keep all work in-house as it provides access to dealer level diagnostic services on a pay as you go basis.”

Eamon points out that it is increasingly likely that even simple parts replacement now requires some coding and programming and through RADE this can be done quickly and easily. The service can also combat common issues such as BMW digital service history updates, VAG component protection, transmission module coding, software updates and key programming. Eamon says his team can also provide test plans and full tech support.

Various RADE packages are available to buy or the package can be leased for just €49 per month. Once up and running the RADE interface allows the EC team to programme any vehicle remotely, allowing the workshop to turn the repair around in minimum time and with no outsourcing or need to move the car.

Eamon says, the system is a one-stop-shop for coding and programming, taking away the fear factor of diagnostic work and offering garages great flexibility and the potential to expand their service offer, without the need for major investment cost.
