The new CP83 Series Cordless Grinder is the latest edition to the cordless range from Chicago Pneumatic. Available in 4.5” and 5” sizes, the grinders are ideal for both light and heavy vehicle use. The tools have a multitude of both mechanical and body repair applications and are especially useful for cutting panels, surface preparation, weld seam removal and frame grinding and cutting.

The grinder has a brushless motor and aluminium angle head housing and delivers a powerful punch of 8500 rpm, 750W, 1Hp. It is also highly durable and has an extremely well balanced ergonomic design. This includes a streamlined housing and thin handle with soft thermoplastic rubber grip.

The grinder also has an adjustable side handle supplied with the tool for left or right-handed use which is set at 20°. For safety there is a lock-off throttle for better control and convenient keyless 270° adjustable protective guard that is easily adjustable to suit cutting or grinding applications, by simply pressing the lever to rotate the guard. Disc changing is also fast and easy due to the spindle lock button.

The tool is available in a kit which includes; two batteries (a choice of either 4Ah or 6Ah) one 20V charger, one side handle, flange spanner and soft Chicago Pneumatic tool bag.

Chicago Pneumatic says the innovative new high power cordless grinder compliments existing cordless tools like the CP8848 ½” impact wrench, the CP8828 3/8” impact wrench, the lightweight CP8818 1/4” impact driver, the strong and versatile CP8548 1/2” hammer drill, and the ultra-compact CP8528 3/8” drill driver.

The advanced technology of the Lithium-ion batteries provides the operator with more power and a runtime which is twice that of other conventional products. The shock resistant and durable batteries slide smoothly into the tools’ cradle and are released via a quick release button.  They feature triple protection circuitry and individual cell monitoring to prevent overheating and overloading during extended periods of use. The easily visible charge gauge provides accurate battery level information to help minimize downtime
