Automechanika Birmingham will host the UK and Ireland National Paint Championships next year, with the winner being announced at the event on June 7th.  The competition is free to enter and will centre around designing and producing the most impressive car bonnet.

Short listed bonnets will be on display at Automechanika which runs from June 6th to 8th at the NEC, Birmingham. A specially selected jury of judges will decide the winner prior to the winners presentation. There will also be a People’s Choice Award, voted for by the public.

Alex Jones, marketing director of Messe Frankfurt UK, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, said, “Bodyshop professionals are a key part of the automotive industry and it’s great to be hosting what’s set to be a fun-filled and highly anticipated Championships at Automechanika Birmingham. This is such an exciting project to be part of and we can’t wait to see the creative designs that participants will produce. The championships not only provide them with the perfect opportunity to showcase the fabulous work these professional painters do day in, day out, but it also enables us to celebrate their talents to the wider aftermarket.”

When entering, participants will automatically be included in both championship categories, with the National Paint Champion then invited to attend Automechanika Frankfurt in 2024 to compete for the title of world champion.
