A leading figure in the independent automotive aftermarket in Ireland has been named as a finalist in this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition.  Terry Knox, Managing Director of CD Group has been shortlisted for the prestigious award reflecting the outstanding development of his company over recent years.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year is a global programme that has been running in Ireland for over 18 years. The Irish programme has been identified as one of the strongest worldwide and aims to acclaim some of  Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs. The finalists engage in a strategic programme of activities over six months including an international CEO Retreat, executive education sessions, and filming for a TV series. Winners go on to represent Ireland at the World Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Monte Carlo.

Speaking about the competition Terry commented, "It was not only a complete surprise to be picked by the judges as one of this year’s finalists but also a great honour.  If you look at the calibre of this year’s competition the quality of the competitors is remarkable.”

This year’s Industry category sees Terry up against seven other companies from many different sectors. The judging process is now complete and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Citywest on Thursday 22nd October.  Not only will the awards ceremony be televised on UTV and UTV Ireland but every Monday evening at 8pm there is a TV show profiling this year’s finalists on the same channels.

Terry added, "The whole process has been an unbelievable experience. I am very proud of the company and our staff for the achievement whilst it is also great to shed some light on the Automotive Aftermarket.  I am happy to show off our market leading service and solutions whilst making people aware of the quality Motor Factors around the country. Mechanics in Ireland should be very happy that the availability of quality parts distribution in Ireland is in good hands.”
