'The One Big Beautiful bill will drive the return of the great American car,' was the official GOP account post on the social media platform X. It was a celebration of the passing of President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill”, which is supposed to provide a boost to US car manufacturing and appeared on the official account of the Republican Party. However, it backfired spectacularly. 

The idea was simple enough, post a picture of a triumphant Trump, complete with MAGA hat, standing in front of a slick US made car. The only problem is that the car selected for the photoshopped image was a bright yellow Lada which was produced in the Soviet Union. The vehicle selected also looks to have been made in the 80S or 90s.  

The image error was quickly jumped on by Democrat supporters and also by embarrassed Republicans. Even the X AI bots spotted the mistake. However, it has been such a blunder, that despite its official credentials, most web users have just passed it off as a joke.
