The somewhat forgotten Italian car maker Lancia has announced that a new version of the Lancia Delta HF Integrale will be introduced in 2026.

More than 30 years after the hot-hatch claimed the honours in the World Rally Championship the prestigious badge will be used, not only on a new a new Delta model, but also a top of the range Gamma model.

The news came as the company launched the Ypsilon Rally6 HF Racing, as part of its return to motorsport.  The high-performance versions of the Gamma and Delta, complete with HF Integrale badge will, it is hoped, re-establish the brand in more European markets.

The original Delta Integrale was introduced in 1988 and had a four cylinder turbo engine coupled with 4 wheel drive. Road going versions of the Rally champion had to be produced to meet WRC rules.

The new Delta is expected to share a platform with the Opel Mokka, Stellantis’ CMP base. The chassis supports petrol, hybrid, and fully electric drivetrains, although Lancia has yet to confirm power details.
