Citroen’s new boss in Ireland Thierry Calewaert, is targeting a dramatic rise in market share for Citroen, from its current less than 1% market share to 4% in four years.

Managing Director Thierry Calewaert says he believes this can be achieved by rebuilding the Citroen brand in Ireland after some difficult times and is hoping that new launches such as C3 and DS3 models will kick start this progress.

Calewaert also says that he recognises that market share must increase to sustain the Citroen network and says he has no plans to cut back on dealers at present. He also gave dealers a positive and realistic message on any brand revamp commenting, “We can do some nice things with minimal outlay in conjunction with the dealers.”
